Shiba Inu: Historic Web3 Food Delivery Paid Entirely With SHIB
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has just made history by becoming the first memecoin to be used as payment in a Web3 food order. The Web3 food order payment with SHIB was made possible thanks to Devour’s partnership with Coinbase Commerce. According to Devour CEO Shelly Rupel, ‘We’re excited to partner with Coinbase Commerce to make crypto spending on food effortless for millions. This integration unlocks a massive opportunity. Crypto holders can now enjoy food delivery while paying with the ease of their Coinbase account. It’s a win-win for both sides, offering crypto users the convenience they crave and restaurants a new way to tap into a growing and tech-savvy customer base.‘
Will Shiba Inu witness a surge in adoption?
The latest food order is reminiscent of the Bitcoin (BTC) pizza event when a BTC holder paid 10,000 BTC for a pizza in May 2010. Although today many would frown at paying 10,000 BTC for a pizza, in 2010, it set a standard for BTC’s utility.

It is possible that SHIB will witness a surge in adoption after the latest food order payment. As more utility finds its way into the memecoin, the higher the chance more people will begin using it. With higher adoption, prices may also begin to rally. SHIB has undergone a significant correction in the last few days. The latest food order may lead to the memecoin rebounding.
