Binance Founder Changpeng Zhoa Talks Life After Prison Release
With the crypto market anxiously awaiting an update, Binance founder and former CEO Cahngpeng Zhao has officially broken his silence after his recent release from prison. Indeed, Zhao discussed what’s next after serving a four-month sentence for his role in anti-money laundering violations by the crypto exchange.
The US Department of Justice fined the platform $4 billion in what was a landmark penalty in the country. Moreover, the crackdown resulted in a guilty plea from Zhao, as well as his resignation heading the exchange. Now that he has been released, the former CEO talks about what’s next in life after prison.

Zhao Updates on What’s Next After Binance Exit, Prison Release
Both Binance and Changpeng Zhao once sat atop the entire crypto market. The brand was among the strongest the industry had to offer. Moreover, Zhao was viewed as one of the brightest minds in the sector, firmly positioned as a key figure to take the growing market into the future.
Yet, things took a detour after the result of a years-long DOJ investigation led to a massive financial penalty and stark changes to the platform. Despite that, both appear to be moving on and moving forward. In a recent post, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao discussed life after his recent prison release.

In his most recent update, Zhao said he was going to “chill for a bit. Then figure out the next steps.” Moreover, he notes there were “always more opportunities in the future than there were in the past.”
Yet, Zhao assures that there is a lot to be done with his Giggle Academy endeavor. “Giggoe Academy has been going well, and will be a big part of my life for the next few years,” Zhao stated. “We will continue to invest in blockchain/decentralized technologies, AI, and biotech. I am a long-term investors who care about impact, not returns.”
Additionally, Zhao noted that both education and charity will be a greater focus of his dedication and time. Finally, he promised a book in the near future. The former executive said he is nearing completion while lauding the success of Binance in his absence.
